PolyEcho Intelligent I/O Control Module

PolyEcho Multi-Channel Intelligent Analog and Digital I/O Control Module

Mightex PolyEcho Multi-Channel Intelligent Control Module is a highly programmable digital and analog I/O control module and an ideal system-level control solution to be used in conjunction with the BioLED Manual/Analog Controlled LED Controllers and LED light sources, the Polygon Patterned Illuminators, cameras and other devices. It greatly extends the performance and ease of system-level set-up when working with Mightex’s Polygon systems as well as Mightex’s OASIS Implant, OASIS Micro, and OASIS Macro systems.

The PolyEcho are designed to meet the needs of our scientific users, with advanced features allowing users the flexibility to program highly sophisticated experimental protocols:

FeaturesApplications
Features twelve (12) digital input channels, twelve (12) digital output channels, and eight (8) analog output channels. The total number of input and output channels can be further expanded by connecting multiple PolyEcho units together.Ideal for independently controlling multiple light sources (e.g. LEDs) for multi-wavelength experiments and for coordinating experiments between the growing number of hardware devices that are required in many experimental setups today.
Supports N x M Input-Output Channel Mapping, meaning any of the 12 digital (TTL) trigger input channels may be programmed to trigger output on any one or more of the 12 digital (TTL) output channels and 8 analog (0-5 or 0-10V*) output channels. *Maximum output voltage available with PolyScan3 Pro subscription.Offers the highest degree of flexibility on how a user can program triggering relationship between any connected input trigger to any connected output device, and the same system can be customized in wiring and software settings to meet the needs of different experiments.
Supports Multi-Event Response Programming, meaning multiple triggering events connected to the same trigger input channel can be programmed to generate different responses (4000+ user-programmable responses) on the output channels. For example, the user may set up the system such that the first trigger pulse detected on a particular input trigger channel would start a 10Hz camera recording for a duration of 10 seconds, then the second trigger pulse detected on the same input trigger channel may start a 20Hz recording with the same camera plus a Polygon providing targeted patterned illumination for a duration of 15 seconds, then the third pulse trigger detected generates another different output response, etc.
Each input trigger supports logging of trigger pulses with timestamps and can be program to respond to positive or negative edge triggering. Built-in time-synchronization feature when using multiple PolyEcho units together to keep the timestamps of all input triggers and controlled devices in sync.Allows an easy way to interface a system of Mightex hardware to other external TTL-compatible systems. For example, a behavioral chamber can send out TTL trigger pulses to the PolyEcho which controls other hardware to perform in-vivo imaging, optical stimulation, patterned illumination and other actions. The behavioral observations, in-vivo imaging, optical stimulation and other data from the experiment can be correlated precisely in time.
Each analog output channel features a fine 1024-step waveform definition points for users to create complex analog output waveforms.Typically used with Mightex analog voltage-controlled LED drivers (or other analog voltage-controller light source) to modulate the intensity of the light sources, or to output any custom and irregular triggering signal waveform to other devices.
Each digital output channel features a variable-period pulse train, programmable HIGH / LOW duration settings, settable initial delay, initial polarity, and pulse repeat count.Trigger digital-triggered devices such as the Mightex Polygon pattern illuminator, Mightex cameras or other popular scientific cameras, or other LVTTL/TTL-triggered devices.
Programmable by Mightex PolyScan3, Software for Scientific Experiments.Provides a user-friendly interface to design and carry out sophisticated experimental protocols.
All I/O connectors are BNC-type.Compatible and connect seamlessly with most laboratory equipment.
Interfaces with a PC via a high-speed USB3 interface.Enables high-speed communication with more real-time feedback and control.
