Gavin Scott, PhD

Applications Scientist

Gavin is an Applications Scientist with the Mightex team, providing sales and technical support for bioscience products. A behavioural neuroscientist by training, with over a decade of experience in the field, Gavin is passionate about applying his scientific expertise to deliver highly knowledgeable support to Mightex customers.

Gavin completed his PhD at the University of Saskatchewan and has held postdoctoral appointments at the University of Calgary, University of Guelph, and Western University where he published on a range of topics pertaining to memory and executive function in rodent models. He has years of experience using in vivo optical recording methods in tandem with automated behaviour systems, with a particular focus on using fiber photometry to measure calcium dynamics and neuromodulator release during complex behaviours.
